Costs: rules, shipping, fees, loans and one-off costs
Everything that is not a Shopify order cost lives here: your simple rules, and every cost you add by hand.
- Simple rules: set Products with no cost as about a % of price, Shipping you pay per order, and Card fees when the real fee is unknown, then press Save rules.
- If you have more than one shipping method, set what each one costs you, then press Save shipping costs. A blank one uses the simple rule.
- If you have more than one way to pay, set the % and per order fee for each, then press Save payment fees. Shopify Payments uses the real fee Shopify reports.
- Under Monthly costs, press Add a cost for staff, apps or rent, then Save monthly costs. They are spread over the days of each month.
- Under Loans and debts, press Add a loan, pick Same each month or % of what shoppers pay, fill in the amount and what is still owed, then press Save loans. Shopify Capital taken from your payouts is found on its own.
- Under One-off costs, fill in the day, what it was and the amount, then press Add. It counts in profit on that day.
- Under Cost changes by order note, add a rule for a cost that depends on an order note (like a print placement), then press Add. The note text itself is never stored.
- At the bottom, press Download a file to fill in for every product and size, then Import a file once it is filled in.
